The Prescription for Pigmented Skin: Effective Advice for Clearer Skin

Pigmentation, also called the uneven skin tone, is common among people of different age groups. Wondering what is the reason for pigmentation on the face? The skin discoloration may be due to many reasons like genetics, hormonal changes, too much exposure to sun, no proper skincare routine, and more. Even though skin pigmentation is completely normal, it makes our level of confidence go down.

Pigmentation generally means a change or discolouration in the skin tone. The color of the skin is from the pigment in the body called Melanin. When the melanin cells are damaged, the change in the skin color happens. Also the upper layer of the skin gets damaged due to acne, cuts, exposure etc, which even acts as a base for the skin to get damaged.

There are generally three types of pigmentation, namely:

1. Hyperpigmentation - High Amount of Melanin in the Skin

2. Hypopigmentation - Less Amount of Melanin in the Skin

3. Depigmentation - This is a case, where the skin completely loses the pigments.

For most of the above cases, the common skincare most of us used would be either Vitamin C, or others like Kojic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, etc. But the question is will they suit your skin? This is completely a big question mark, since each of us have a unique skin type, and it may react accordingly. Even though a complete routine is required to keep the skin healthy and glowing, at times you have to look at the ingredients that you are using and are they working for you!

Looking to build or create a simple yet effective night time routine for skin pigmentation on face:

  1. Make sure to cleanse your skin once in the morning and night before going to bed. Since the job of your cleanser of face wash is to remove the dirt in the skin, choose them based on your skin type not by the ingredients. For example, if you are someone who has dry, flaky skin, try a cream based cleanser. In other cases, like oily skin, go for a gel-based or watery kind of face wash.

  1. Face gel is also one of the best inventions in the skincare industry. This is because they are light in weight, and can easily penetrate into the skin layers, and show results way more effectively. For removing pigmentation, try our Skin Even Gel with Radish Pigment. Even though there are a lot of remedies for pigmentation, trying our fermented skincare product would be way more effective and at the same time suits all skin types, even sensitive skin. You can even dot a thick layer of gel in the dark spots or pigmented area.

  1. Moisturizing the skin is a key in maintaining young and healthy, glowing skin. Investing in a good Skin Moisturizer would help in making your skin well nourished and hydrating. There is a myth that oily skin type people can skip moisturizer. But, it's a big no. Every skin type requires a moisturizer. Moisturizing after face gel is a must, because once after you apply oil based products, it is hard for the watery products to enter into the skin.

Make sure to keep yourself well hydrated internally too by having water, juices, and soups every now and then!
